She Thinks I'm Crazy, But I'm Just Growing Old

#44 Aja: Steely Dan. I love Steely Dan, and their earlier stuff has some of their best songs, but this is their most consistent CD, with a real late-night jazz club vibe that I love. Unfortunately, this spawned a gazillion soft-jazz copycats, but no one matched the cool smoky sound of this gem.

You've lost me on this one. I know you and Trevor are big fans, but this just sounds like bad 70's soft rock to me. I will give you points, however, for placing this on your list next to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You're a man of wide-ranging tastes, CTV.

Though I'm not a big fan of Steely Dan, this album did inspire a song which I can enjoy over and over... "Aja" by The Ergs!... pretty much just standard pop punk but great lyrics... 'Met a girl named Aja, she said her dad loved Steely Dan, I laughed and asked her if her sister's name was Pretzel Logic'
